IA Courses: IDS 1353 Creativity-in-Context, IDS 1359 Creativity-in-Action, and IDS 4950 IA Senior Project
Amy Bucciarelli holds an Assistant-In faculty appointment and is the Academic Coordinator for IA. She is an instructor for the IA creativity courses in years one and four. Bucciarelli has experience in curriculum development, online teaching, active learning environments and flipped classroom methods. Bucciarelli holds her BA from Stetson University and her MS from Florida State University. Bucciarelli’s background as a licensed mental health counselor and board certified art therapist – connecting medicine and mental health to visual art – informs her interdisciplinary approach to methods of creative thinking. Ultimately, Bucciarelli believes that creativity is a lifestyle that promotes personal balance, wellbeing, and success in any career path. A life that actively seeks creative experiences promotes interdisciplinary collaboration, ethical decision-making, critical thinking, strategic problem-solving, and multimodal communication. Bucciarelli strives to offer an interactive approach to teaching, demonstrating that with practice and mindfulness all students can reach their unique creative potential.
