Amicon Management Gifts the Innovation Academy Construction Management Engagement Program

The University of Florida Innovation Academy (IA) is proud to announce the Amicon Management Engagement Program, a $50,000 endowment by Adam Mopsick of Amicon Management to support a partnership with UF IA students and the creative, innovative professionals in the construction and construction management fields. This program will provide quality students from all backgrounds the opportunity to explore construction and construction management, network with innovative leaders in South Florida, and pursue internship and employment opportunities with Amicon.

The Amicon Management Engagement Program is designed to foster a partnership with Amicon and UF’s Innovation Academy to provide a uniquely immersive experience for creative, self-motivated, organized, and innovative interns. The engagement program aims to provide one-of-a-kind experiences for UF IA students to visit Miami, tour significant construction projects and meet local leaders while connecting Amicon with talented, interdisciplinary interns and potential permanent employee placement.

Adam Mopsick, CEO of Amicon Management, graduated from the University of Florida in 1993 with a BSBA in Finance, and is a LEED-accredited, licensed State of Florida General Contractor. Since co-founding Amicon in 1996, he has successfully led the company to become one of the largest owner representation and real estate consultancies in the region. Mopsick utilizes nearly 30 years of experience in the industry to drive corporate strategy as the organization enters its next phase of growth to develop innovative solutions for the traditional construction industry.

Amicon Management evolved from Amicon Construction, one of South Florida’s premier general contracting firms specializing in high-end and complex projects, working with clients such as The Ritz Carlton, American Express, FexEd, Starbucks, and Prada. Today, Amicon Management manages hundreds of millions of dollars in real estate improvement projects.

The engagement program aims to provide one-of-a-kind experiences for UF IA students to visit Miami, tour significant construction projects and meet local leaders while connecting Amicon with talented, interdisciplinary interns and potential permanent employee placement.

The three aspects of the Amicon Management Engagement Program are an exclusive speaker series to select Innovation Academy students held on campus at UF; a two-day expedition to Miami to tour Amicon Management, network with construction professionals on-site and in their main offices, and get to know the cultural sites in South Florida; and a Fall internship opportunity offered to students that demonstrate potential to contribute innovative ideas to Amicon Management.
