Mia Sogolov: 2025 Suss Scholarship winner
By Maja Hiller
GAINESVILLE, Fla. — The University of Florida Innovation Academy is thrilled to announce Mia Sogolov as the 2026 Suss Family Endowment Scholarship awardee.

A third-year information systems major, Sogolov is driven by a personal mission to improve health and quality of life through innovation. She became aware early on of how environmental factors, such as poor indoor air quality, can impact daily life, as she herself grew up with severe allergies. Because of this, she is now committed to developing a product that simplifies and monitors the cleaning process and maintenance of vents in households.
Her academic path and professional background reflect that entrepreneurial mindset. Sogolov has contributed to improving software products in her internship with ProHabits, increasing on-time delivery and reducing user-reported issues. Moreover, her current position at Ridgway Roof has further expanded her perspective, introducing her to B2B sales and new skills that she plans to use as she builds connections within the real estate and housing industries.
But beyond her professional experience, Sogolov brings an open-minded vision, shaped by her background as the daughter of immigrants and a bilingual Russian speaker. This continues to influence how she approaches problem-solving, encouraging her to think critically about product accessibility and consider diverse perspectives.
As she continues her journey, Sogolov has dreams of launching her product within two years after graduation, with a long-term goal of building a company that treats indoor air quality as a critical health issue rather than an overlooked aspect of home maintenance.
Established in 2021, the Suss Family Endowment supports IA students enrolled in the Warrington College of Business and College of Journalism and Communications. Donors Richard Suss and Dawn Suss, who now serve on the UF Parent and Family Philanthropy Council, created the scholarship to recognize students and assist them to further reach their academic goals.
Previous winners include Tiffany Steinke, 2025; Nickolas Choquette, 2024; Calum Clark, 2023; Saryn Taylor, 2022; and Daryl Sutherland, 2021.
