Off-Campus Housing Resources
Living off-campus, while studying at UF, can be a satisfying and rewarding experience that can add to a student’s educational experience. Before choosing a residence, students need to consider what needs and preferences they have for not only the cost of living and rent but also the distance from campus, length of lease, roommates and safety to name a few.
Off-Campus Life is committed to educating and assisting UF students to achieve a positive off-campus living experience. Through OCL’s resources, services, education, and support we foster leadership and civic engagement to develop great gator neighbors in Gainesville and throughout the Gator Nation.
The Gator Guide to Off-Campus Life includes information on budgeting, leases, finding the right place to live, city codes, transportation, tenant rights and responsibilities, neighbor rights, and responsibilities, meal memberships on campus, how to get involved on campus, fun things to do off-campus and much more.
Please remember to check the move-in and move-out dates in your lease before signing it, so they don’t conflict with finals week and make sure the move-in dates are before classes begin.
Academic dates are available at the Registrar’s Office.
It is YOUR responsibility to make sure your contractual dates are correct before signing your lease or you run the risk of having to move out before your semester is over.
For any questions related to Off-Campus Housing, contact Nora Kilroy, Director of OCL via nlkilroy@ufl.edu or 352-392-1207.
